Superradiance, molecules, and quantum optics

Superradiance is a consequence of a self-induced collective dipole and is a fast and strong increase in spontaneously radiated intensity. Associated with this increased decay rate a shift can be seen - the "collective Lamb shift." A recently developed formalism in the framework of a nonlinear master equation allows to describe this phenomenon along with both, stimulated and spontaneous shifts. I will describe some of our recent findings and try to answer questions that often come up in connection with superradiance, such as "does Dicke superradiance create entanglement?"
