Hybrid Electro-Optical Quantum Nanosystems
In this talk I will give an overview of several research themes pursued in my group on hybrid electro-optical quantum nanosystems. Specific examples include the electro-optical preparation, manipulation and readout of the spin of single electrons and holes in artificial atoms and molecules and the investigation of coupling to the solid-state environment and the exploration of tailored dielectric / metallic photonic nanomaterials that facilitate control of the light-matter interaction at the single emitter – single photon limit. I will discuss how, by coupling several degrees of freedom at the quantum limit (here, spin - photon - electron...) new avenues of exploration can be opened up across many fields in solid-state quantum physics and applied nanoscience.
